My $8 Overhead Dual Radio Mount (two, multiple)
Hey All,
Well, after spending countless hours trying to figure out how to mount two radios in the Jeep, here is what I came up with:

I was going to go with 1" x 1" steel stock, but it was too pricey. (Also, to make it fit the thumbscrews, I would need to make tabs on the end which would be weaker than the rest, so it defeats the purpose of the steel.)
What I used was shelving bar stock I bought at a HW store for $6, and I covered it with foam pipe insulation for $2. I added a center brace to stiffen it a bit and it works well. The area above the radios and the center brace were later covered as well.
More Pictures, sorry about the quality, but you get the idea:

Mounted is my Yaesu FT-270RH 2 Meter rig, and my RadioShack CB (which works incredibly well).
Not pictured are two mag-mount antennas (Radioshack and a Larsen 5/8) on the front bumper - one left, one right - on a Shrock Mid-Width.
This looks much better in real life than pictures.
Hope that helps someone.

The Yaesu has a snap-in mount and can be taken out easily. The CB does not, but you can not really see the radios up there from outside of the Jeep. From the front, they are completely hidden.
The only downside to this setup is I hit my head on them when I get in the Jeep -I need to slow down a bit on entrance and I'm OK. ...JMM

In essence, if you are in a spot CB does not work, you can use 2-Meter.

What is the meter radio for? What does it do?
