Most I have seen are referring to the window open with the gate closed; to transport 2x4's from Home depot etc...

Check out this Thread for other reasons why its not a good idea to mount on the gate (poor signal, piched coax ect.)

yeah i already read through there. i just like the overall look of it coming from there. Its more for trails with me im not trying to talk to people 40 miles away lol

I fitted it between the sun visors and it fits perfect. You just need to get an "L" shape connector to plug the antenna wire to the back of the CB so it doesnt hit on the windsheild

You're going to need a different place to mount it. I had a small midland mounted there and when I bought my cobra 29 I was going to put it there but it doesn't fit.

My 29ltd st wx fits fine up there.
