Need some help with Coax
Let's start off by saying I'm the newbiest of the newb, so definitely don't know what I'm doing here...
So I bought the CB listed here :

4) What do I need to buy to ground the antenna?
Anyone have an idea of what brand of antenna I have? Should I upgrade - It is only 3 ft.

1. It appears that kit comes with coax but yes that cable would work.
2 & 3. Yes. Either or both will work.
4. That depends on the cable. If they built it with a terminal on the end all you would have to do is push the terminal under a bolt on the mount and ground it there. The cable in #1 would not have a ground to the mount. The mount would ground to the tailgate when installed.

And the brand appears to be FireStik. 3' is adequate but depends. Some will tell you that it needs to be tall anough that the top 2/3 is above the roof; ie 2' of the 3' antenna. I have a 3' but only because a 4' would snap off going out of the garage. My door is only 7' tall.

On # 1, No Coax... I think what you see in the pic is just the end of the handheld that plugs into the box quick disconnect plug.
#4 - OK... If I used the Teraflex mount, that could work, but I also might want to use the CB tab on the Or-Fab tire carrier in which case I don't have a bolt to ground it to. What would I need to buy to ground it in this case? This is the tire carrier I have :

I'm still confused on the grounding issue. I have gone back & read several threads and I think I am more confused than when I started. 
If I mount the antenna to the tab on the Or-Fab tire carrier and have a fire ring coax grounded to the tab, my main question is :
Do I then have to somehow ground the tire carrier to the frame of the Jeep?
If so, how do I do this?

I realize that is a brochure pic but I can't see a whole lot from it. Are you ever in the area of SDSU? Or can you be in the Murrietta area this weekend? I should be up there at a friends house. I can look at the bumper, show you my mount/ground job and we can compare notes.

That shows two wires. One is the coax. I am going to guess the other is for the CHMSL.
Ok, based on that pic and the first one I think I understand. Go back up to your original post and look at the first pic. On the right is the antenna mount with the antenna adapter already attached. The antenna cable will just plug into the bottom of it. If that is your setup, the coax is grounded as soon as you plug it it. If you don't get good ground readings when you attach the adapter you can put in a star washer. It will bite through the paint and gound the outer part of the connector to the mount.
As for grounding the tire carrier....You are going to see some people agree with me and some disagree....In theory it is grounded. All you need is metal-to-metal contact. That contact will be interrupted by grease on the hinge, grease or corrosion on the latch/hasp, etc. Run another ground to the tire carrier. I ran a wire from a bolt inside out through the tailgate to a bolt near the lock. From there I pulled another wire out actually onto the tire carrier. If there aren't any small bolts on the tire carrier, you can always drill a small hole and bolt down a terminal.

You might be right on the CHMSL - I didn't think of that (Since I never put mine back on).
