Default negative or positive ground

Sorry for the dumb question , but do JK's have a negative or positive ground. I'm installing my new Uniden PRO538W, and wiring it directly to the battery with inline fuses. On the CB there's red & black wires, and the instructions say that it depends on type of ground as to which post they go to.

I'm not going to go look, but I'd say negative ground like all other cars on the road. positive ground is like old (really old) british sports cars and shit. I've worked on hundreds of vehicles, yet to see a positively grounded one.

Negative ground for the JK... at least in the US models. I'd assume the same everywhere else

I agree with racinfast002, JKs are definitely negative ground. Positive ground stuff is pretty rare.

My old Hudson Hornet was 6 volt, positive ground. Now that was a REAL "Land Cruiser".

Thanks, everyone!!

This forum is a complete lifesaver.

I'll post some pictures once it's all installed. I pick up the antenna tomorrow, so by Saturday morning it should be working like a champ.

When I was in high school, my best friend had a Triumph TR-3 that was positive ground. Like has been said: Pretty rare these days (both the positive ground and the TR-3!).
