The other advantage to HAM and units like these is the ability to become a cross band relay in an emergency. A bunch if handhelds range can be extended by 20 miles if line of sight is right.

You also get a call sign you can choose if you go vanity!

I have a sbb5 comet antenna with a rs730 lip mount. This makes it real easy to mount! I originally had it mounted in the back, but had issues with interference on my wireless golight spotlight. Then I put it on the opposite side of my hood, but had issues as well.

I know it's not suppose to be next to my am fm antenna. But honestly, isn't affecting the antenna and I never listen to am fm radio, so it's not a bother at all.

Lets see how it goes then. There's a technician test coming up in April. If I pass it ill go ahead and order the parts. Hopefully I can have a better conversation then what I get on cb... Looking at the kenwood 710a or the unit you purchased.

I mounted my 350ftm on top of my HR-2510. I thought it was a cool install. Until I saw yours. Great job!!!

Looks great! I wish more jeeps around me ran Ham radios! Good to see someone using the yaesu 350... what a great radio!
