You do have to drill holes (carefully) for the mount. I used Nylon Lock Nuts on the back side and very short bolts to hold it in place.

Also ... this wan't my original Idea ... saw it in another CB thread ....

Successfully installed mine a couple weeks back. No problems at all with it. ( just wish it was louder!) I'll post some pics later.

Strange you had no room. I'll get a pic of mine looking up with the hood closed.

if you want it louder google "Workman Loudmouth Amplifier"...i have been looking for something to amplify mine and found this thing. i have no idea if it will work or not like it claims, but i think you should get one and try it out. then let us know if it works or not

I got that amplifier. It definitely amplified the weak power coming from the CB unit, but its certainly not knock your socks off loud.

For example, stopped at a light you can speak to your surrounding drivers. If they have their windows up it will be difficult to hear.

No where near powerful enough to speak to anyone at cruising speeds.

Very loud in a parking garage though and certainly enough to speak to rigs ahead of you on the trail.

Default PA Installed. Thanks all!

All,

Installed this over the weekend. After looking over the several suggestions sent in, I went with this location. It works very well.

Install was easy and it sounds great! Plenty of volume.

I bought the horn through Amazon.com for @ $10.00. It came with enough wire to route and jack it to the CB I installed at the same time.

Thanks to all for your suggestions and photographs. You are the best!
