Flyingbrian,

My son is having fun with his PA. But go easy on the Da's. You could find yourself talking to the federales!

def been there haha....my buddy was talking to all the cars at a stop light. Turns out the car next to us was an undercover cop. Pulled me over and bitched me out. It apparently really made him mad although nothing offensive was said, all he asked through the speaker was if he could hear us lol. Let me go without anything and assumed i had been drinking.

I'm in college though so guess I shoulda expected it

Default PA 5" Speaker Mount for 2012

I just got my Speco SPC-5P 5" PA Speaker Horn. It's pretty darn loud over the engine where I'm going to mount it.

SPECS - I added these because a lot of sites don't list them
15W max
8 Ohms
Sensitivity 105dB/1W/1M
Comes with 10 ft cord with the 3.5mm Plug
5"X5"
Plastic and waterproof

I feel like sort of an idiot being that it is plastic and I could have gotten an aluminum one for about the same price. Being that it is in the engine bay hopefully that wont create any problems from the heat. I found a good place to mount it where I think it won't get too hot and is plenty loud paired with the Uniden 520. I'm waiting on getting the antenna before I put it in for good, but I did a test with some duck tape and it looks to be a good spot. To put a horn in there over 5" in diameter you would have to bend or cut it. It's sort of wedged in there where it takes almost nothing to hold it. I'm going to drill one hole up by the cowl and bolt it in.

Installed

Ran the wires through the firewall behind the brake booster.

Comes with more than enough wire to go to where my CB is mounted.

I'm not sure of the brand, but pretty much any 5" PA speaker will fit here

How did you physically attach the horn?

Default Bolted on update

I posted a couple up but that was before it was installed. I took some pictures of the horn while extending my axle breathers. (WRITE-UP->https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-w...al-2dr-246787/).

I'm pointing at my new breather location here, so never mind that

I drilled one small hole here and added a dab of touch up paint. I ended up just using that one brass bolt to hold it on.

I didn't need to extened the cord on the speaker to attach it to my CB radio mounted above the rear view mirror (No Drill Footman Loop (above rear-view) CB Mount How To).
