Default Power source

What power source are you using to hook up your cb? Somebody told me I can use the ignition fuse, M27, and plug power direct to that and then of course ground to body.

Mine is run straight to the battery. Positive wire through the firewall to the battery terminal, grounded inside the cab.

It shows how to go directly to the battery on this LINK->Project-JK.com - Jeep JK Wrangler Resource » Affordable Jeep JK Wrangler CB Radio SolutionMidland Model-1001Z That's how I did mine. I've heard that you get the least engine noise doing it that way.

BlueSea 12 circuit fuse panel behind the glove box.power to it is from the battery thru the fire wall.
all my extra stuff is to it so i don't have to tap into the factory wires.

Run both the positive and negative leads directly to the battery. You will get less noise and also don't have to worry about messing with the Jeep's finicky computer system.

At first, I was powering directly from the battery. I got tired of turning the CB on and off everytime I got in and out so I looked for a simple solution that doesn't mess with the CAN bus digital communication. This is what I am using now:
Quadratec Exclusive JK-APT - 12 Volt Power Adapter for 07-10 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

Would I be able tap into the 12v in the center console of my 11. This says the only safe place to tap into is the drivers side outlet. Mine doesn't have a driver side out outlet

After a closer look at the instructions for this. You could save $20 and just use the 2 wire taps with spade correctors on the cb wires. This just gives you a terminal block so the wires can be removed easier.

Just don't forget the fuse if you don't want to risk blowing the main fuse supplying the power outlet.
