Question Quick Disconnects and CB Antenna Question

Tried to search for it, but could not find any information.

I would like to only have the CB antenna when I am on trails, because it might get stolen in the city.

So, if I tune my CB antenna with the quick disconnect on, take it off for a week, then put the antenna back on the quick disconnect, will it screw up my tuning at all? Thanks!

It should not, I have a QD on my antenna, though it stays on most of the time, I've had it off and replaced it without any problems.

No, it will not mess up your tuning at all.

How often do CB antennas get stolen?

I live in the city, but nobody really has CB's here. Is there really that big of a black market for them? Is there some huge underground sex fetish where people whip eachother with stolen CB antennas?

I used to take my CB antenna off and on because I didn't fit in my garage with it-- didn't have a quick disco, but I just used to uncrew/screw it back in and it never seemed to lose it's tuning. Of course, now I've got my 35's and I don't fit in my garage even without the antenna, so I just leave it on. I guess if this one gets stolen, I'll think of a different method for the next one-- but I can't imagine the homies here in L.A. being interested in a CB antenna... (unless Wayland is right about the fetish )

Appreciate the help. I am however surprised no one knows about the underground antenna fencing gang. They are bad here in Dallas.
