Radio Shack, a "c'mon man" moment...
Around here just a few Radio Shacks carry any limited CB stuff. HAM, do not think about.
A few years ago I went to one to get components and the guy gave that same blank face "we do not carry this kind of stuff here". Like I was asking for enriched Plutonium or dilithium crystals. They are most likely struggling, because all stores I pass by are usually empty.
When I want this kind of stuff I go to Fry's. It's on the other side of town, but still carries a relatively good assortment.

Hahahaha this made me laugh. I went in to Radio Shack last week, looking for CB radio goods, they had absolutely nothing! I couldn't believe it. All they carry is cell phone crap.
How can a place with the word "radio" in its name, not carry radio equipment??
They didn't even carry the 14G wire I needed, all they say is speaker wire.
I see them going out of business soon for some reason...

All the Radio Shacks up here in Canada got bought out by Circuit City a few years ago. They all changed their names to "The Source" by Circuit City. From there on out, the only source that they have been is one of disappointment.
X2 on the battery club.

The last time I was at radio shack I asked if they actually had radio's and all they had were scanners...
I do have to give radio shack some credit though b/c they have a decent selection of A/V cables for non-rip off prices. I normally order all my av cables online since they are much cheaper but last Christmas I was helping my dad wire up a new tv and we needed some HDMI cables and Radio Shack didn't gouge us as badly as stores like Best Buy do.
They seem to be doing a better job of adapting than say 5 years ago when they were almost completely useless.
