The antenna that came with my unit has the adapter built in that connects to CB. In order to use the firestik and regular coaxial cable you need the adapter...

Update: I'm going to mount a permanent Fire stick as I'm not so sold on the magnetic antenna. If the top is up you have to route the cable thru a door opening(as the only metal to get to is the hood) and I'm really not digging that.

Advise?

Thanks

Has scanning on cb as well as weather radio
I have the same setup. I have an external antenna mounted on top of my spare tire carrier with wiring running inside the cabin to the front and it pops out of my carpet in the passenger foot area. I can then plug my Midland into it and plug the power cord into my dash plug. Works quite nicely for me since I only go out maybe once a month with my club.

Is it better to run the cable on the floor or on the roll bars? I've been thinking about doing the second but apparently most do the first. Any reason for that?

Not true... I run mine through the rear side window and the antenna mounts right near gas cap. Or, I run it through the tailgate window and mount the antenna right to the tailgate... I've been in some thick woods with that little antenna and spoke with other jeepers 1 1/2 miles away with no problem... For a small antenna, it's got some range..
