Default Teraflex CB mount

Just for those interested..here's some pictures of the teraflex cb mount. I was surprised how thick the metal was -- very solid.

I love this mount! Wish I had seen it a week ago...woulda saved me some of the skin on my knuckles... Mine is basically the same, but it ain't from Teraflex- I had to take a saws-all to my old mount from my TJ Rubi. It ended up being quite similar, but does indeed have that redneck technology look to it. I will be scoopin this one up as soon as I can find it. Where did ya find it and what did you pay??

One guy had one at the Penn's Woods Jamboree last week. Loves it.

Default Got a tip for this mount

I got one of these mounts from Wallcot CB. Be sure you remove the powdercoating from around the bolts and the ant. mounting hole. I did not do this at first and the CB did not work at all. I checked the ground at the mount and it was non-existent. After I removed the powdercoating it worked fine.

It's a very nice mount, real sturdy and fits perfect.

Cheers,

Mike

As Mike did, I got this at Walcott CB. Can't link - so Google for them. It sells for 29.95. Walcott part #JKCBM

And yes, I'm having to go back and do that. I'm having a heck of time getting the thing tuned, and so I think I need to better ground it. I have a ground strap to install as well, just havne't done it yet - wanted to see what it was like without it. I'm having a heck of a time getting the thing tuned...none of the instructions are very clear.

Firestik firefly FL3B or FL4B are the favorites I'd say. Both retail for under $20.

I just ordered the bracket and a Cobra 75WXST from Walcott. I bought my last high-end Uniden CB from them. The Uniden had great SWR numbers after tuning but it was mounted to my truck. It will be interesting to see how well I can tune the new one with the antenna mounted in such a crappy spot on the jeep.
