i was wondering what size threads are on the posts sticking up from the battery on a 2012 jk where your rings go around. it looks like 1/4" thread but it doesnt seem to accept a 1/4" nut.

i wanted to just plop a ring down and put a nut on without loosening up whats already there. whats that slight white coating on the threads too?
