Where did you mount....

If I go that route it'll give me a reason to get the daystar dash panel. I looked at the tuffy tray and stereo cover...but since the stereo cover slides under the tray- I wonder if you can still mount the compass module?
I installed mine up on the dash bezel. I also got a second dash bezel free from a fellow JK-Forum member. MHaines I think, but don't quote me on that. What that allows me to do is remove the radio when I don't need it and tuck the wires under the replacement bezel. This leaves no traces that a radio was ever installed, which is nice for keeping would-be burglars at bay.

For the antenna, I went with the Firestik Model: LG3-M2-B "No Ground Plane" Molded Side Mount with Firefly tunable antenna. The thing I like most about this antenna setup is that I didn't have to drill any holes in my sheet metal or run any wires externally. Plus, when I remove the antenna, it is almost unnoticeable that I've ever installed a CB. There is that keeping would-be burglars at bay thing again. The $50 price tag on the antenna kit wasn't to tough to swallow either.

The setup worked right out of the box. I've never even hooked up an SWR meter to tune it. I can only imagine how well it would work if I ever tuned it. Great setup!

Edit: One more thing I wanted to mention. I am preparing a camera mount to affix to the top of the radio. once done, I will have a still/video camera mount that will be inside the rig. This setup will be most beneficial on trails and other runs.
