i think i still have a dx 1200,and a rci 2950 out in the garage somewhere,from the old days

I used to run a 2970DX and a straight 6 pill Magna Force 1000 in my F-150 on SSB, if I could hear ya you would be hearing from me shortly after......

those were the days !!

have run one for years although not on my jeep. mine is about 15 years old. virtually last forever and add a little black box and talk to Mars. get the biggest spring you can find and put a tennis ball over it and you are all set. big spring, mount, and antenna are less than fifty dollars at radio shack



over the years and it won't take many it will develope a forward curve from banging on building overhangs and lower treelimbs
