whip antenna?
We did A LOT of testing years ago with the 102" stainless whip. It pretty much was the best CB mobile antenna there was. We all were running them. Then the Wilson 1000 came out. It was almost a dead heat between the two. As far as I know these two antennas are still the best thing going as far as putting out, and receiving, a signal.
any other ideas on how to tie the front of the antenna to the hood? i'm gonna mount the antenna on the spare tire carrier..how do folks have it attached to the front if i wanna bow it over?

I like mine on the front, since it bends back with the flow of the trail trees and brush as I'm moving forward.
On the back, bent forward all the time, I would say you are likely to catch on lots of greenery.
