Default ? for you CB guys out there

Let me start by saying I have never used or been around anyone who uses a CB, but I have a couple of questions. I don't have any friends that drive 4WD trails, but I plan on making friends with my new ride.

1. Do I need to get one and why if so?

2. Why are good Walkie Talkie's not just as good?

Any input is appreciated.

1. Yes, to call for help or just plain old communicating on a trail/road. Plus its a jeep thing.

2. No, no, NO! Always need batteries or charging, easy to forget, lacking in range and just try extending the antannae inside with the top on and windows up.

Get a CB, carry a cell phone and have a pair of FRS's or similar.

You can actually get a decent CB for a reaasonable price. I didn't/don't know too much about them either but having it makes the trail so much easier when your with a large group, or small group for that matter. This is the CB I have...clean, simple and effective

Nice mount, where did you get that...

When enthusiasts are off-road, the most common form of communiaction is often a CB. So, from an enjoyment perspective (group adventures, trail rides, etc.) and a safety perspective, a CB is a good "tool".

Cool Tech LLC sells a mic mount (VersaMount) as well as a CB antenna mount (UltraMount) -both designed specifically for the JK.
I have both mounts andlove them

Smokey and the Bandit.

Back in the 70's CB radios were the hot item, everyone used them.
That and police scanners, but not in the truck ;-D

My handle was Wig, I had long hair, now it would be Thin.

I've been thinking about a CB what's everyone buyin? Is Cobra still the #1
