Default 2008 Radio Died

I have a 2008 JK and the radio completely shut off today. I checked fuse M10 and M12 under the hood and they look ok. Everything else seems to work ok just NOTHING on the radio. Any suggestions?

The radio on my 2007 stopped working one day. A few days later it started working again. It was just before the battery failed... Do you have the original battery still?

Yep...I had a similar issue a few days ago. My radio started acting weird...then the factory battery crapped itself. Battery replaced...problem gone.

My Navi has a mind of its own. It frequently will lose volume control after starting. This ever happen to anyone?

Yes. It usually comes back. I have had it decide not to turn on and found out that disconnecting the battery briefly at the negative side then reconnecting it fixes the problem. I have no idea why it does that but would love to know.

'08 X bought it new
My first radio went out on Feb. of 2011. Was replaced under warenty.
Now over the weekend, it went out again, 09/08/2012. It is at the dealer now. I checked the battery both times. The battery is fine. The dealer told me that this is a common issue if you have the normal, bottom of the line radio. If this is a common issue, then why does jeep use a cheap radio. The dealer also said they will try to get it covered under the extender warenty. We will see.
