2008 remote start in a 2007?
Is there a way to install the 2008 OEM remote starter in my 2007? I know I can get an OEM for my model year but I really want the integrated key/remote as opposed to the separate key fob.
I know it has been asked before but just in passing and no solutions.
Thx!

I think if you order the Mopar one it comes with a new key with the button in it from reading the installation instruction on the Mopar site but I am not sure since they aren't always accurate.

I believe they had to change the wiring harness to offer the integrated remote start. I don't believe that it would be fesible.
I suppose, in theory, you could do some research to identify everything that they changed for the 08 to make the integrated unit work, then order all the parts, and retrofit your 07 somehow.
Either the Dealer or a complete set of the FSM would be required.

I have the 07 remote start on my 07. Now when you install it one of the steps is to program the remotes you are using to the remote start module. I would think you could just get the new key with the remote start button and just program it like normal when you install the 07 kit. I can't see why that wouldn't work.

The 07 kit has two modules. One is the main control and relay module and the second one has the Transponder for the ignition in it.

Giving '08 Kit in '07 a try
Been following the forums on this and decided to make the jump and just do it and report what comes of it. The '08 kit should be here tomorrow, I will then check harnesses and such and if all looks good I will make an appointment with my local dealer to do the WCM and programing.
PN ordered 82211437AC
Then there is the matter of install on a manual. Yes I have a 6MT and I have owned nothing but standards and never had an issue. I might put a e-brake and/or clutch switch. But for the short term I will exit the Jeep after putting it in 4LO. No clutch needed to start.
