Default 5 Prong Rocker Switch

Did a search but couldn't find anything

I am converting all my lights to LEDs and ordered some new rocker switches. I was surprised to see they were 5 prong rather than 3 prong. Can anyone help with wiring? Are the two extra prongs for switch illumination and the other 3 prongs for the LEDs?

Sorry if this is a noob question. Appreciate any help you can provide

5 prong switches are usually dual switches. meaning off is in the middle, and each side acts as a different switch. also known as on/off/on. lots of people do this with lights. say i have windshield mounted lights and bumper lights. with the left side of the switch, i could just have my bumper lights come on. but with the right side, i could wire it to both relays to have both sets of lights come on. cause lets be honest, if i am in a place where i want my windshield lights, i want my bumper lights too. thus, eliminating the need for two switches. less wiring, less space, less switches, cleaner look.

hope that answered your question!

although they also make 5 prong switches that are just one single switch. this would have 2 LEDs. one that stays on, the other that comes on when you flip the switch on.

if you still need a little more explanation, i'd be glad to give it a breakdown. lol
