50" LED and soft top flapping up and down
My buddy has a 50" led with a soft top and when driving over 40 mph it makes the roof flap up and down like it's going to rip off. We have tried everything besides flipping the light bar around but can't get it to stop. Anyone else have a problem with a 50" bar and soft top?
Keep us posted. I'm looking to put a 50" on my jeep this fall. Right now I have the hard top on now but come spring I'll put the soft top back on and I'm afraid of the turbulence and the whistle. Trying to get all the info so I don't have any issues when I install it.
Yup my solution was having the top back as much as possible and if not the windows were open. Then I put the hard top on like a month earlier than normal because I couldn't take it. I literally cannot understand how people say it doesn't bother them lol

i always just stuff an empty pack of cigarettes between the sound bar and top and it stops the flapping haha
also have seen people use this http://www.skidplates.com/TopProp.asp

I have a trektop nx and had noticed the noise but mine was from the support hitting the sound bar. The nx has aluminum supports to prevent stretching but it also keeps this flapping from happening,(rode without them before and they flapping was horrible)but the bar makes noise hitting the sound bar so i simply put a small piece of carpet padding between the sound bar and aluminum bar to stop that. Maybe u could get the supports for the door surrounds from bestop.
Iwantajk, if it's the light whistling then get a roll of door edge molding and put it on the top and bottom two fins completely, sand with the middle fin, then cut the rest in 4" strips and randomly place them on the rest of the fins. That should take care of the whistle, if it's the top u need to find the gap.
