I replaced mine with Polk Audio. db651s Front and Rear, and swapped the tweeters for db1000's. It made a significant difference, but it was way too weak in the bass dept. So I also added a Kenwood KSC-SW1 Subwoofer. Pretty happy with it now.

you have to listen to your type of music on a bunch of speakers then make a decision and try not to do it in a "soundroom" they wont sound anything like that in a car
i hade bostons in my tj i thought they sounded good
i also like the infinity system in my jk

I've always liked Infinity Kappa series, I'll probably upgrade to those..I must say I was excited to find my new Jeep had Infinity's, but bummed at how they sound...

Kappa's, a good head unit, and amp will clean up my sound issues I'm sure..

I had Kappa's in my last truck. Beautiful sounding speakers... Good Price.... Good warranty.

I'm considering some more Kappas for the JK... But like said above... Everybody hears different. You need to hear them for yourself.

Did you swap the sub speaker or the entire thing?

That kenwood unit is a self powered enclosed subwoofer. So he replaced the entire subwoofer.

has anybody replaced their speakers with marine speakers so you don't have to worry about them getting wet? also, my infinity sub sounds horrible, is it possible to swap it out for another sub, but utilize the same box?

I thought about marine speakers after I had put Bostons in my TJ but then I was so impressed w/Bostons that I didn't even consider anything else for the JK.
