Default Amp to improve stock Subwoofer

I aws looking at upgrading my stereo on the cheap side.
I've seen threads about people adding a 200 Watt amp to the sub, and they seem to cost around $30.
Has anyone here done this? can anyone reccomend an amp?
Like i said , i want to do this cheaply.
Thanks
