Default upgrade factory headlights and foglights

just ordered silver star sylvania lights for my jk and i got the head lights and fogs.

Anyone do this yet, factory lights were ok but they needed to be alittle better off road and i thought that this might be a quick solution. Anyone have them installed? Are they as bright as people claim they are? How long do they last?

i thought the factory lights were terrible. the first thing i did was upgrade the bulbs. it's ridiculously easy. harder if you have gorilla hands.

lights up nice and crisp; but be better off buying a quality fog light kit for more power

I'm looking to upgrade too. I did this to my TJ and was really happy with the results. It's starting to get darker earlier here, so this is something I really want to do in the near future.

You mind sharing how much you paid and where you ordered them from? H13 headlamps are running about $25 each here. There's a sale at Pepboys for Silverstar headlamps this week, $34.99 for a twinpack and with a $15 rebate, it's about $20 total. But I couldn't find a twin pack of bulbs at the store, so I couldn't take advantage of the deal.

There's also a $5 rebate through Sylvania on the bulbs, FYI. You can do a Google search for the form.

I just replaced the head lights and fog lights with sylvania bulbs this past weekend. They deff. improve the night visibilty. For the money it was a good choice.

totally off subject but just noticed put a flowmaster 40 series on my jk and just took a look under to see how good of a job and the idiots put it on backwards. Should i expect any major damage to happen planning on getting it fixed really soon.

how hard is it to replace the factory head lights? Just as simple as pulling out old one, connecting new wires to new lights?

I am unsure what you are asking. The headlights have replaceable bulbs, not the whole unit?

As far as the bulbs, i popped the top of the grill off enough to get my hands in there, removed ... (4 screws i think) that held the headlamp assembly in, pull it out, disconnect the plug, turn the bulb & pull it out, replace the bulb, then slap it all back together. I dont think it took more than a 1/2 hr to do both, including a beer break.

Edit: Oh, i put silverstars in mine well over a year ago. (headlights only, not the fogs) and they are a good upgrade for little money in my opinion. I would definetly do it again.
