I am going to install the underhood arb compressor in my jk and only plan to use it for tires. I would like to just wire it to the battery and have a switch under the hood without taping into the jk wiring. Has anyone done it this way? Is there any reason it needs to be wired into the jk?

 

Part of the reason I want to do it without extensive wiring is in case I get a newer jk in a year or 2. I want to be able to move it to the new vehicle easily.

 

You can do it.
Make sure there's the right size fuse on the '+' line, and use thick cables.

 

Ended up returning it, gonna get the portable one instead
