I used the Brandmotion camera kit which works with the factory NAV. It works great. They have an adj mount that worked great with my Fuel Trophy wheels.

they also have a version that works by replacing the rear view mirror and its an option if you dont have factory nav.

Did I say its Great?

does it have a good field of view? And how is it at night? (Which is my main concern)

I have an AVH-X3800BHS HU that has dual inputs. Depending on how you run them, you can turn them on or off at the HU and toggle between views easily.

Camera is right below third brake light. Lens is between the bolts holding the brake light on. Wiring for the camera runs with the third brake light wires into the tailgate. Camera can be disconnect via the service panel on the tailgate.

Looks clean! Nice job. I thought of mounting mine like on the hitch, but I have a hitch safe that I use to lock my keys in then I go running. If I wasn't using the hitch, I would have probably gone this approach. Easier install.

I do think that the higher positioning you used has some advantages in perspective.

I also considered that I might want a hitch safe, but I gave up that idea when I decided to go the easy route.

Nice work on your part.
