what do you mean under the rear seat? do you mean the very back compartment? you could very well turn the into a sub enclosure if you really wanted, to do it right would be kinda tedious but i bet it would turn out cool. as for the four door, i would just say go check out eracer's system. search for "my system is done for now" and it should come up, he went all out and it is pretty crazy definately go check his out.

Yeah, i'm talking about the little storage bin thing under the rear seat in the 2 door. I plan to finish it with a strong protective grille for the subwoofer as well as the amp, so i can still throw crap on it without worrying about popping the speaker. Will probably herculiner finish it. As far as "cement pounder".... i'm not sure how this in any way negates off road ability. But i sure do like blastin tunes at the beach.

For all the 2 Door JK'ers...yank that useless rear bench...sell it for some extra 'skrilla, and put your new sub in your now surprisingly roomy rear cargo area.

Default subwoofer idea

One solution, assuming you dont want huge bass is to use the factory speaker locations as subwoofer enclosures. Companies such as Kicker, JL Audio & maybe others as well make 6.5" subwoofers. Kicker has a nice CompVR Shallow Sub that has around a 3" top mount depth and these may fit in either the dash or sound bar. The speakers would also be in a fairly weather resistent environment. They are a little over $100 each but you save on not having to design & build an enclosure. Another option is to just buy a nice set of component speakers with the biggest woofers you can cram into the factory holes that have the best bass response. Mount a small amp in the glove box or under/in the dash somehow & you're good to go. Out of site, protected from weather & fairly simple fabrication. I've thought of trying something like this one of these days but I'm saving for lift & tires first.

Im pretty sure a lil sub in that location won't make a big difference i'll think of something because i still need to lay my rear seat flat pretty often

This is the box that I made for my 2dr. The back seat can not fold as easy though, that doesnt bother me cause I never carry anything that big and if I do I got a truck. When tailgate is closed it just looks like a shelf. The amp is underneath the shelf and the sub is firing down. It a 10" polk audio sub with an alpine amp. This set hits really hard, but I dont play it that loud.

I like your box Wranger X - very cool idea. I'm making a plan for one that takes up the entire rear area of my 2dr, but I still think yours is good if you're keeping the seat. I like how you inverted the amp and kept it stealth.
