Default Best windshield mounted lights?

I am trading in my 2000 Grand Cherokee for a 2010 Sahara unlimited, and the first mod that I can afford to do it mount headlights on the windshield. what lights and brackets have proven to be the best value? the brackets all look pretty similar to me. i am looking for decent lights but nothing crazy. would appreciate any other input you may have for a first time wrangler owner. thanks

Go HID and never look back.....you will pay more, but the amount of light you get is amazing...

Also, IMO, I found the Mopar brackets were better, cause they keep the lights lower and futher away than KC brackets. Your field of vision threw the windshield is better, and not blocked by your new lights.

HID is overrated, especially considering the price...the amount of light my KCs slims throw around is plenty bright. If I ever need more light than my KCs at the windshield and IPFs up front can provide, I'll need new eye balls to match.

I disagree.........to each their own.....All I'm saying is that if you experience HID's, you will never want halogens again.....I have copared mine (just my 2 windshield offroad HID's) to multiple halogens (headlights, fogs, offroad lights all on) a few times, and the HID's are much brighter, and range smoke halogens.

I second the LightForce but I'm a fanboy.

I do recommend the Smittybilt mounts if you can find them. They're the exact same part as the MOPAR brackets but no where near as expensive.

If you decide on the KCs definitely get the long range pencil-beam lights (not fog or driving beams), they come in sizes 6 or 8 inch diameter and truly light up the dark !! Pics in my gallery of 8inch on Mopar brackets.
