Default IN-CAB CONTROLS - My Command Central

As a pilot I'm used to having plenty of instruments around me to let me know what's happening around me at all times. Whilst I don't now fly for a living my JK cab still kinda mirrors that.

Holy crap dude. You need air traffic control to help you with all the blind spots? My ADHD would have me in a ditch in no time flat driving your information hub on wheels. Haha. It is cool though. I like techie stuff. I just have to have it in moderation.

Those were made by 12vguy. They were a custom order I asked for based on a similar panel he'd made for someone else. If you send him the pic he may be able to do another one, though.

Default Garmin Foretrex 401 Added

This summer I'm taking the family way off the beaten track where we'll eventually have to hike a couple of miles to get to a little cottage we'll be staying in for a week. With that in mind I thought I'd better equip myself with a compass again. I ended up getting a Garmin 401 Foretrex that I could use both in the Jeep and out of it. In the Jeep it gives me an accurate compass as well as a barometric altimeter. Out of it it also gives me the track back function and plenty of other handy features. Sooooo, where to mount the beggar in my limited real estate.

In the garage I found a couple of pieces of relatively thin, easily formed aluminium. They were old brackets left over from some Ikea office furniture as I recall. After a little cutting, filing and shaping, and a lick of paint the left side of the bracket perfectly utilised two small screws holding the case of my CB together. Two small strips of industrial velcro later and the 401 now sits perfectly at the end of the CB where it's small display is easily read and a quick tug releases it to use outside. Happy days!
