Yes. I've done it. No change in reception at all. I sprayed it flat black.

Same thing here hust in case you need a second opinion. Not that I have doors on but it looks good with the locks done too. I plan on the jeep emblem but I need my wife to mask it off (small fingers).

i used rustoleum semi-flat black rattle can.

only_in_my_jeep - that emblem comes off pretty easy. i just pulled mine off, rattle canned it black, and relocated it to under the tailgate hinge.

I used the same cheap rattle can black I picked up for my mirror mouts. I figure if it does not hold up well I will get a good self etching primer and then paint over it the right way later.
I figured it was just glued on and would remove as easy as the same thing witht he dealer's name did however I like the location just not the shine. I figure if I can get the wife who has smaller fingers and the paitence to mask it off to do it I can paint in place saving me the hassle of removing and then re glueing. She said she would yet somehow was unavailable yesterday. Something about dishes, or laundry or something.
BTW I lightly scratched the surface of mine with some 400 grit sand paper to give it something to hold paint.
