Yes the CANBus is basically a network with inputs and outputs much like a PLC network. The system uses low voltage/amperage data signals, much like the body's nervous system. And just like the body's system the power used is highly regulated. Everyone knows what happens when the body's nerves come in contact with a high voltage/amperage source. So likewise the CANBus system.

not quite, the human body only has 1 control processor, with several sensors and actuators. the nervous system would be more comparable to a lin bus

Well think of it like this, the sensors are organs and nerve clusters, and the ECM is the right half of the brain, and the BCM is the left half of the brain, and the MUX wires are the spinal column er somethin like that

I install lights when I purchased my new bumper... You can buy the wiring kit for about $12... It comes with wire (plenty) and a relay, which is very important. I mounted to relay to the firewall next to the battery. The directions are pretty easy to follow. I then mounted my switch just over my right leg to the plastic pc below the steering wheel. It pops right out and easy to drill into to set your screws. Relatively easy installation...
