Default Correct parts install AVH 4200NEX with back up camera

Hi guys...

Can you please help me verify I have the right parts list for a new AVH 4200NEX with backup camera and sirius receiver.

I have an 07 with infinity system and sub with I belive the 130 head unit, no steering wheel controls and no u connect. Im keeping the stock speakers, sub, amp, and want to reuse the stock jeep sirius antenna. Also I wish to retain the fader control.

_Axxess CHTO-013 or Axxess CHTO-03 which should I use? Both say they allow fader functions

_Metra 95-6511 - dash kit - does this come with a bezel around the radio or just side brackets? If this is just side baskets then which one has the bezel too?

_Metra 40-EU10 - antenna adapter

_iDatalink's Maestro SAT1 - to re use stock sirius antenna to work with sirius tuner

_Lightning Cable for Carplay

_USB Cable for Android Auto

Am I missing anything else???

Thanks in advance! 🙂

Default Hopeful Help

I installed a similar Stereo Pioneer 8200-NEX and I found it best to go to Crutchfield.com and put in your vehicle information and the stereo you want, and it will tell you what you need, specifically. (although your list looks correct)
If it has two usb's in the rear you have to use usb-1 for android auto, but to tell you the truth, i hate it...its ugly and sucks, haha...get about a 6ft usb cable extension and run it from the unit to the driver side panel so you can change out usb dongles without having to remove the unit..fyi.

Good info above. Crutchfield is a great way to check parts. I will agree the usb connection for either Apple CarPlay or Android as disappointing on the pioneer systems. Also make sure you have the usb 1 easily accessible. You will want it for firmware updates.

SO the part you hate about the usbs is that they are located in the rear of the radio rather than say up front as part of the face plate?... which means your forced to relocate them up front somewhere in the cab with an extension. That's the only thing you hate right?

Similarly, is it just the location of the usbs or something more about the implementation of the two types that your saying are disappointing?

I just installed the same stereo but on my 15. Crutchfield is your friend. Build it on their site and then get the parts list. I ended up buying a double USB extension from Amazon and it works great. I ran it under the glove box and mounted to the side of the console by the shifter. Also don't forget the parking break bypass from Amazon. It allows you to do anything while in drive (cameras, Netflix etc). I actually couldn't get Android auto to work without it.

I ended up hating Android Auto. It takes over your phone and isn't customizable at all. My buddy uses apple carplay and it's much better, except for the maps.

And good luck getting all that crap into the dash!

in case it helps, i installed the 4200nex in my 2016 JKU and used the following:

- parking brake bypass...
- fm antenna adapter...
- idatalink and harness...
- hdmi/aux/usb ports... (removed the factory usb port inside center console and enlarged the hole to fit this)
- double-din dash kit... (i liked the looks of this one better than the metra, but none of them install perfectly without some fiddling)
- i didn't install XM radio, so i'm no help there
- i tested several cheap Amazon cameras and decided on these for front and rear: http://amzn.to/2FGC0vV

i did a writeup on the install here: https://offroadpassport.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5072

How do you like the camera? I installed the Pioneer camera for the backup camera and it has very poor low-light quality. I'm seriously considering switching it out.

the low light on these is just OK combined with my LED reverse bulbs, it is not the kind that switches over to B&W night vision in low light (infrared).

i liked it as a good compromise between size, cost, features, and image quality. it has the ability to switch to mirrored image or not, and with or without parking lines. i wanted to run the same camera front and rear so my brain could get used to a single FOV with regard to judging distance. every different brand of cam i tried had a different FOV, even multiple ones that were all sold as 180* wide angle.

some of the other ones i tried were from ESKY, ParkVision, and random chinese stuff. anything with a 1/4" sensor pretty much sucked. the 1/3" or 1/2.7 sensor based cameras were much better regardless of claimed resolution/TVL. the best image i've seen (in a reasonable sized package) comes from those 1/3" Sony CCD Super HAD waterproof bullet cameras you can find on ebay (little larger than a chapstick tube)... but i wanted something smaller.
