Default Crazy idea!!!

Work with me here lol. So i had this idea, I'm going to upgrade my 2010 JK sport to have power locks. Is there a way i could get tiny actuators, link them to the door lock system and hide them in the glove box and center console? I know it is going to take some creativity, but the plan is when i have the doors off, i can still hit the lock button and lock both the glove box and center console. Has anyone ever tried this or heard of it being done?

Is there a reason why you can't just lock then with your key?

I could lock them with the key, but i like to tinker. Just thought it would be an interesting concept.

LOL! Sounds good. I'm sure it will be nice once you get it done! Heck I'd like to have it even with the doors on since the zippers and plastic windows aren't real secure.

Locked console and glove box is usually not a good combination when your doors are off. Thieves will just break your glove box and console and you will not only have that damage, but they will have ruined your hard work with your actuators. Not to mention your stuff stolen.

Get a Tuffy underseat drawer (or two) and just leave your glove box and console open. I usually leave some dollar store sunglasses and flea market CD's in the glove box and console for them to steal.

Interesting idea though

Well, I know BMW has glove box actuators, but I don't know that it would be any kind of easy to make that work in the jeeps. They have a different style lock. I am sure something could be engineered if enough time and thought would be put into it. You can find the actuators on ebay for as little as 10$ used.

Just put a switch inside, name it 4x4, power the actuator to lock both?
