Default In-Dash GPS unit security or protection

I'd like replace the stock radio in my JK with an in-dash GPS unit from Pioneer. I was thinking about security for it especially if the doors are off.

Does anyone have any inovative methods of securing their in-dash units?

Model I was look at was the AVIC-X920BT coming out in mid 2010.

I saw the Tuffy Flip N Lock unit which looks promising but its so ugly.

I had the Tuffy Lock, but it was awful. I agree that it did look ugly on top of the dash. Also, I never could get it to fit right, even with some tweaking and grinding on the latch area. I finally threw in the towel and sent it back 2 days after it arrived, since I never could make it work. Went back to my Daystar dash and never looked back.

I have the Tuffy one pictured above for almost a year and I think it's great. Never had any problems with it. Ugly or not gives me a little piece of mind.

Check out the JVC navigation units, you can detach the face and stow it away or take it with you. It is useless without the face, pretty good deterent.

If a thief wants something they'll get it. There is a thread where someone had that tuffy lock and someone busted it right out and caused more damage than if it wasn't there. I forget where the thread is, probably show and tell.

yeah, there's only so much you can do for the factory radio protection. that's why you pay insurance premiums and park in well lit areas...
