DNX 5120 Installed!!

Almost as nice as the 33's
Alright first is a few shots of my messy hack wiring job

To get the unit to fit i had to bend the 4 support tabs down as well as hack away at the plastic piece highlighted by the green arrow. You might also be able to see the METRA CHTO-03 adapter hiding in the very back right corner

Here you can see the power cord for the backup camera as well as the gps antenna mounter under the top dash piece
Works great too btw

Ipod cluster f**k i still need to organize and hide better
The 5120 does direct ipod control via usb and also charges whenever the jeep is on.
Finished product with dash filler and all.

Garmin Nav built in

Backup cam (you can also hold down nav for longer than 1 second and it brings the camera up)

Cam flush mounted on the rear bumper, i had to cut a 3x5 section out of the backside to allow room to get my fat stubby fingers in to tighten the nut on the back of the camera

Overall i am pleased, the dash kit has a slightly larger gap than i woulda have liked but it is equal all the way around so it feels finished.
I cheaped out on the back up camera itself...its not very clear and has a redish tint during the day. I havent had a chance to try it at night yet. I love the ipod control. I can just lock it away and forget its there. The user interface of the radio can be hard to navigate at times untill you know where you are going. It is very customizable, its just a matter of searching through all of the menus until you find what you want. The backlit buttons can be changed to match almost any interior lighting or an off the wall color of your choosing. It can even randomly cycle through preselected colors.
The nav unit is superb. Always have loved Garmin and this is no exception. When using the RCA jacks for speaker hookups you can configure it to play source through the rear speakers and interupt the front speakers only for nav instructions. Very cool. My only complaint is that i can not seem to be able to tie the nav volume into the radio's volume. You apparently have to preset it in one of the hidden menus of the radio. A minor drawback at worst.
Apparently you can load custom background images from cds and usb devices. I will look into that later.
Honestly besides the nav volume my only problem with this thing is its 5-8 second start up time. Seems like an eternity when you are used to hopping in and everything is BAM ready to roll. I will get used to it
Highly reccomend it for anyone looking to snag a mygig, you can have this setup for roughly $850 not counting the ipod (which you could use a cheapo usb flash drive instead)
