Default Does 6 CD System play random?

I'm making up CD's for the wife's new JK about to arrive in a week, and I wanted to know does the 6 CD player system operate in a random play mode ?
I would know if I had the manual - but I don't have the Jeep yet.
Thanks in advance
Eddie

Thanks for the link to the owners manual.
On page 224 it states
"RND Button (Random Play Button)
Press this button while the CD is playing to activate
Random Play. This feature plays the selections on the
compact disc in random order to provide an interesting
change of pace."
Thanks again

Unfortunately page 224 is the instructions for the RES unit. It's the single CD player. The six disk unit is the REQ and it's functions are described beginning on page 228. If you look at the illustration you will see that the RND button is in the same place on the single disk player as the "load" button is on the six disk. I guess they just didn't have enough buttons. I was bummed about that too... Hope that helps..

Thanks jpp

I just looked at the two diagrams and there is a differance. So much for ordering a 6 pack CD player that doesn't random play. Another piece of Chrysler crap to throw away, after the Jeep arrives.
Should have purchased Sirus. Have to look at dealer install maybe.

Yeah, I was a little bummed about the lack of the random option as well. I used to use it a lot. On my TJ, I had added an Ipod adapter and was able to use the random button on the deck to shuffle through all the Ipod's music, as well as use the playlists. It was really nice. I was dissapointed that I couldn't do that again. However, after having the six disk player for a little over a month now, I have really grown to like it. It hasn't skipped on me once and the fact that it will play DVD's allows you to put a LOT of music on a single disk. Having over 4 gig of music on each disk is the next best thing to the Ipod setup. It is so much music that I really don't miss the Random option that much. It's not the perfect scenario, but it functions well enough for me and no one is as eager to steal it.

I can't believe there's no "random" or "shuffle" feature on the 6-disc changer.....what a bunch of bullsh.t! Sure you can put 700 songs on a DVD disc, but what good does that do......you either listen to the first 20 songs a lot or hit "skip" 100 times every once in a while.

I pretty much just use my zune, but it would be nice to have "random" play back on the stereo...

There is some level of support for Random play on the 6 disc unit. If I activate shuffle on my iPod before I plug it into the uConnect, then the letters RND illuminate on the display and if I choose a particular song it goes away. I have to unplug the iPod and manually activate it again.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a key sequence to activate it.
