Default Fog Light HELP!!

Ok thanks for your interest. I am pretty capable in most DIY mods but i am clueless when it comes to electrical stuff. Here is the scoop:

I have a mopar off road bumper ...which eliminated my factory fogs. I am looking to tap into the already there factory fog hookup and mount some fogs on my bush bar. I already have the mounts for the 2.5 inch bar that my bumper has. First what is the watts in the factory fogs and what is the maximum wattage the factory wiring can manage. I would like to keep the factory fog switch inside the vehicle and just plug and play if possible ?????

Please help.... information pleaseeeeeee. Thanks in advance.

Well I can answer part of your question, the bulb in the factory fog reads 12Volts 42watts that’s kind of strange but true. Just my opinion but I think you can get away with a 55watt with no troubles.
I am sure there will be other opinions and recommendations.
Hope this helps

Some people have increase the wattage sucessfuly. And some have failed. Will not hurt to try. If you want to be safe. Just install a relay and use factory fog circuit as a triger. Run new power from the battery through the relay to the lights
