Gauge Color!
#5
Yeah come on man you can't put up a picture like that and not tell us how you did it. I've seen a couple threads on various websites that show where to replace the bulbs and stuff but I can't remember where they were. What bulbs did you use? X2 on changing mine to blue.

Sorry for the lack of info, i've been busy...college sucks...
On another note, as most of you might know, the JK gauges are illuminated using small micro-led bulbs. these are extremely small, not even 1/8" in size. there are two for the Tach and Speedo, and one for each of the other gauges.
To change the color I removed the gauge cluster, its only 6 bolts. The gauge cluster comes apart rather easy with just a few tabs. Once off you can slightly lift up the edges of the gauge overlay, all without removing the needles.
I just took some colored translucent film and but them behind the factory overlay, this gave me the red color you see in the picture. The only hard part is cutting the film and ensuring it does not cover any of the indicator lights.
All in all it was quite simple, you just have to ensure that you don't damage the gauges.
When the weekend rolls around i'll take some pictures and tryout the blue ones i made!

I got the film from, of all places, CVS. I just took one of those colored folders and cut it into the right shapes for my gauges.
Im gonna try to post a pic of the blue ones tomorrow if i get a chance to install em!
