Default Getting rid of the x patter when changing to TL

Looking at getting the TL headlights and everyone talks about the x it makes with the light. I know a few people buy the horizontal adjustment screw but how do you do it with electrical tape?

Sorry I can't answer that question for you and I'm not much help, but I'm curious.....why would you spend that much money on a set of headlights that you're not 100% happy with? If there's an X pattern in them and it's not something you can live with, why wouldn't you look for a different option? I know you had a thread not too long ago asking about headlights and you didn't seem interested in retrofitting HID projectors, but the crisp cutoff you get from them (and JW Speakers, too) is quite nice. And no X pattern, either.

Just a thought.

I could live with them but My wife is a little OCD about it. And I just decided that the TL are going to be the best quality. I hate how these jeeps are made because you can't adjust them horizontally. From what I've read the jw speakers do it a little as well plus in my opinion they are just ugly looking and I don't care the way the projectors look on jeeps either after further research. I was just wondering how to do it just in case she even noticed the x.

That X pattern has nothing to do with horizontal adjustment. There's a bit of an X or V coming from each of mine, which means it's originating from the optics inside the unit. Personally, it doesn't bother me in the least. I like the quality of fixture and of the light output.

Ok thanks for clarifying that for me. I don't think she will notice it one bit with as much light output it gives.

You can adjust the headlights up/down and left/right. Up/down uses Torx screw, left/right you have to remove light and use wrench inside housing. It's a pain, but is possible.

Agreed, the x pattern is a non-issue.

So the US models don't have electronic height adjustment?
