Default Ground location

Time for this moderator to get on the receiving end and actually ask a question I am stumped on.
When I removed my 3.8 engine for the V8 now in I could not remember if the ground going to G104 on the 3.8 engine came from the harness on the engine or did it source from across from the left side body harness. A knowledgeable shop thinks a few issues I am having is ground related and I know I only connected a Chev engine ground on a Chev stud (believe it or not) in virtually the same location of the old engine. No Jeep harness ground was connected so wonder if that is my issue.

Just a thought, is the engine grounded to the frame and the body? If its just grounded to one or the other, i would run another to be sure its grounded to both

Dat yes the engine is properly grounded. What I wanted was - is there a bunch of small gauge wire grounds that originally went to the engine stud G104 and were contained 1. within the engine harness 2. the left side underhood body harness or 3. None at all.
The grounds are usually multiple wires under one crimp lug. I may just have to get out there in the cold and use a flashlight and look see.
