Hands free
Thankfully, my salesman knows everything there is to know about Jeeps. The U-Connect button is not active, and doubtful it will ever be (though nothing is impossible). The module that connect to the radio is not installed, the wiring harness is not installed, and there's no place to put the microphone.
The head unit is from a Sebring, which does have U-Connect...hence why it has the buttons. My wife's Grand Cherokee does have the U-Connect, and it kicks butt. I'd love to have it in my Wrangler.

My dealer told me the same thing, that there's no UConnect out but they're planning to have it later on although it's prohibitively priced (above $400!!!!!!!!!!!). Incidentally, I lucked out with my dealer. She's really cool, knows her shit inside out and never bullshits when she doesn't have an answer.
On a side note, my girlfriend gave me a Jabra JX-10 Bluetooth headset and it's unreal. The sound quality is so amazing, the people on the other end all say that they hear me crystal clear and it has 6 or 7 hours of battery life. I just tuck my phone in my pocket and off I go. The next best thing to the UConnect!
