There have been posts about this before. I found 8 while searching "horn, honk, lock"
Just so I look nice, here is what the manual says on page 22/3 --
22: THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE

To Turn Off “Flash Lights With Lock”

NOTE: The Flash Lights With Lock feature can be
turned on or off by performing the following steps:

1. Press the “Unlock” button for 4 to 10 seconds.
2. While the “Unlock” button is pressed, (after 4 seconds)
press the “Lock” button. Release both buttons.
3. Test the flash lamps with LOCK feature while outside
of the vehicle, by pressing the “Lock” button on the key
fob with the ignition in the LOCK position, and the key
removed.
NOTE: Pressing the “Lock” button on the key fob, while
you are in the vehicle, will activate the Security Alarm.
Opening a door with the Security Alarm activated will
cause the alarm to sound. Press the “Unlock” button to
deactivate the Security Alarm.

The “Flash Lights On Lock/Unlock” feature can be
reactivated by repeating this procedure.

I think if you reread his post, he is talking about the headlights flashing when you UNLOCK the Jeep. I too hate this, and have not found a way to disable it yet. I have it set for the lights NOT to flash when I lock it, but they still flash when you unlock it. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Unhappy HEADLIGHT on when you unlock

YES, the headlight come on when I unlock the thing....HATE IT. I have taken care of the parking lights flash a while back and the horn too....

So, if anyone has a solution, other than a hammer, to the Headlights coming on during unlock, I would appreciate it....

Do you ever get in your JEEP at night? Maybe your doing covert operations at night, then I understand, but all these features seem very useful to me.

the headlights are supposed to flash... that way if a hummer parks next to you, you will still be able to figure out which vehicle is yours!

No covert operations here but I do go to the drive in movies alot and when coming back from takeing a wizz its just bad manners for the headlights to come on when getting back in the Jeep.

Although there is no need to set the alarm when accompanied by my trusty saber tooth attack beagle.

um.. might sound silly, but how about on those rare ocasions when you are at a drive in, you just unlock the door with the key?

any former jeep owner will surely be used to doing this anyway.
