Heated seats
It was ok.
The Mopar system is actually a Checker Corp system.
Checker builds seat systems for many of the auto manufacturers including Mercedes.
about 11 months after installation, the controller bit the dust.
I use the thing pretty much 9 months out of the year between cold New England weather, a bad back, and they help mitigate the stiff ride.
Checker did not want to talk to me about the Mopar kit, but would gladly talk about the it under the Checker Corp component numbers.
(I suspect it has to do with warranty reimbursement issues since they sort of expect your dealer is installing the kit).
Anyways, they sent me a new one which looked a smidgen different.
But WHAT A DIFFERENCE.
Much more powerful controller.
Blows away the heated seats in my c70 and s80 volvos.
Been a couple years and it has worked flawlessly since then.
You can order from Mopar web site.

Want to say 3 hours or so to install singlehanded.
Biggest issue is to use PB Blaster or some other lube on the seat bolts the day before, as they factory really cranks down the seat boats.
Excellant instructions are included with the kit.
I installed the MOPAR heated seats kit in my 2011 JKU. The installation was a little over 4 hours and for the most part was easy to follow and pain free. The biggest snafu that I ran into was removing the 4WD knob. That was the biggest pain the ass and to be honest removed mine by cutting it with a dremel tool. Also make sure you have the proper pliers to reinstall the seat covering, bull nose pliers I believe. I tried doing it without them and was a huge mistake. (Ended up runnig to the store to get them) I believe that most of my issues with installation was the removal of the 4WD knob and lack of proper tools to replace seat covers. Overall happy with install and the heated seats work well after warm up.

If that is the case, I found using plastic zip ties instead of the metal hog clips do the job just as well and are much easier to work with where you don't need any special tools. That's what others recommended when I did my Katzkin leather seat re-skin, and what I ended up doing after seeing how much work it would be to re-install new hog clips.
What did you use the bull nose pliers for? Was it for replacing the metal ring hog clips that hold the seat cover in place?

I'm thinking about buying a set of AEV seat covers. Do you guys see any problems putting the heater elements on top of the factory seats, between the oem seats and the seat covers? Way easier to install and will transfer the heat better through the seat covers. Thoughts? Thanks.
I've used probably 4 other kits over the years in my car, gf's and friends vehicles. The one thing I noticed is that while they were all different companies and various prices ... they were ALL identical kit wise. Same exact pieces, wires, relays, elements etc ... identical. The only reason I went with the Warmseat heaters was because they were the only kit I could find that was advertised as water proof. Even though the Iggee covers are water proof as well ... ultimately you are sitting on exposed wiring connected to electricity and there is no guarantee I will be caught without my top on when the rain comes. Last thing I want to be is zapped on my ass or back because it got wet.
