Help needed on electrical issue - no mechanics can figure it out...
Two years ago my 2011 Jeep JK unlimited got caught in a very heavy rain storm while i was in work with two front pieces of freedom top off. On my drive home that night my dash light up with every single light and my blinkers and windshield wipers stopped working.
Fast forward to winter - Jeep has starting issues, on cold nights key must be turned 15 to 45 times in neutral only to get one solitary heavy click each time then all of a sudden randomly starts...replaced starter, starting issue continued...... weather warms up and never has a starting issue again (including through following winter).
Since starting issue when it rains or i hit a large puddle ABS, Traction Control light comes on and stays on (until vehicle dries out) with Down hill descent light flashing for a few seconds and turning off (sometimes pops on while driving and causes loss of power),
Brought Jeep to mechanic to read codes and the following has been done since;
- Clockspring replaced.
- Rear right speed sensor code continues to pop - upon inspection speed sensor has gear oil from a axle seal on it (replaced speed sensor (After market) & Bearings and seals both sides of rear axle.
- Rains two days later & bring to dealer - Dealer cant pinpoint issue - replaces wiring - tests drives during rain after wiring replacement lights come back on.
- Dealer states aftermarket speed sensor could be causing lights - dealer replaces speed sensor again (OEM) - lights return with rain/puddle.
Help....anyone?
