Don't have to worry custom fabrication box and ideas will support the whole thing. I will put up pictures to show you what you can do. It would basically take some major power tools and about two hours to get your subs and amp out. If you interested?

I've been reading the audio upgrade threads and it would appear that the kicker amp upgrade won't work on a base model non-Infinity system because there's no existing amp to replace. I kind of hoped maybe all the Wranglers might have the same wiring harness and therefore the upgrade might be feasible. I've had both Ford and GMC trucks where the factory wiring was already in place for certain upgrades like cruise control (Ford) and Driver Information Center (GMC). If the Wrangler followed that patten maybe the wiring for the Infinity amp is already there and the fact you've found sub wiring even though you don't have a sub gives me some encouragement.
In the far back, passenger side were the plastic Panel is if you take that off it has wiring to the back lights and then a open cord easy to get to takes about 5 mins.

Box fits between back seat and tailgate so that it seals. You can't even get a finger between them to pick it up. If you need to take it out, open the tailgate, and take the top loose and it pulls out after you unclip wires from the box, the amp is sitting on a block of plastic, first if you leave the windows down and it rains, it won't touch the amp. Secondly, the block of plastic is bolted into the frame and the amp is bolted to the plastic block. Thirdly it's underneath the seat. You'd have to take out the seat then unbolt the amp then unbolt the plastic from it. Every aspect of my system was for performance and security. I have a dead bolt on the tailgate that only unlocks with the key to my car too so someone would have to go through these steps to get everything out:
1.)Cut my top completely open.
2.)Use a crowbar to pop open the back tailgate.
3.)Reach up and recline back seats forward.
4.)Pick up Sub box and pull the straight up.( this would be difficult to dove cause of the angle and top falling in)
5.)Get inside my car and unbolt the seat.( they would need an air drill with a compressor to get those bolts out)
6.)Then unbolt the amp from the plastic block.
7.)Then unbolt the plastic block.

And by that time... Well I figure if they get it, they deserve it lol

And on my tail gate that's a strip of a weatherproof soft sheet which also reduces chances of water leaks and the SUbs scratching your tailgate.

And if your really big into security, there is a radio called Iguana. It pulls way back into the windshield when the car is off so that you can't touch it unless the car is turned on.

That's not a bad setup at all. I'm in the process of figuring out a custom 8" box under the back seat of my jku. I like my cargo space but still want bump. To the OP- there are hundreds of choices for you to look at on here. Most are pretty simple. Your needs/lifestyle will determine what you do.

But yes, the jeep sub box with an aftermarket amp is a good start.

Some people complain about a whine on cheap inline boosts. I didn't use one on mine and still got enough sound. You can try though, but be sure you can return it if you get that whine.
