Default Infinity Subwoofer Replacement

is it possible to replace the infinity subwoofer with another but still retain the box? my sub isn't sounding so great after getting drenched by rain.

I don't see why not- Just make sure the encloser space will work with the sub you choose and the power isn't to low

Smile Subwoofer

I have installed a JL Audio 8" sub in the factory box. It is powered by a 200 watt Kenwood sub run from speaker level inputs. Definitely woke up the bottom end. I tapped ino the speaker wires under the dash just before they go into the amp. Used an 8 ohm sub-both channels running into it. Easy and very worth it. ILJK

I wish I could place subs under rear seats. since I got the factory amp replacment it doesn't seem to quite have the bottom end that it did.

So let me get this straight peterskr You taped into the signal wires that went to the amps sub channel correct? so does that mean you cut the wires all together and ran all new ones?
And I do not know but I am sure there is a good reason but why can you not take the wires in the factory sub box and run them to the new amps inputs then back out to the new sub?

Default Subwoofer Wiring

I used wire taps to get the signal under the dash , no cutting. The wire tap splices were connected to a green wire/white stripe and a gray wire/white stripe. From the splices I ran 2 new wires under the carpet and the bottom door trim back to the speaker level inputs of a Kenwood amp under the rear passenger seat. Then I ran 2 new wires from the bridged output of the amp under the carpet back to the JL Audio sub. I unbolted the sub box and drilled a hole in the very bottom for the new wires to enter w/o being seen. I taped up the factory sub wires inside the box as they are not used now. My particular setup uses a Kenwood KAC-6202 amp-200 watts bridged, and a JL Audio 8W1v2-8 subwoofer. Don't get me wrong , this is not a competition type setup , but with the amp adjustments , I find that it blends in seamlessly w/ the rest of the stereo system. Oh yes , you can feel it and I would never go back to the stock setup. Absolutely no comparison.
