I have an 07 4DR JK, the there several non working features, namely speedometer window (odometer and all warning lights in that window), cruise control on steering column, and heater control. The Working instruments and controls are the headlights, wipers, Radio, and window in tachometer (compass, temp, DTE,etc). Without opening the dash, my thought is there is a break somewhere in the wiring harness.

I’m Thinking about replacing wiring harness as a simple alternative to chasing a break or short. any thoughts?

 

The FCM controls the lights. So you can see why they come on if Bus tellgamestop goes down. Nothing like having your lights turn off by themself...lol One of the weakest points on these vehicals is the radio. It is hooked into the bus as well. you can unplug it from bus by unplugging the two pin wire at back of radio. you will loose steering wheel audio controls, if you have them. Radio is just a thought.
