Default iPhone Car starter and alarm

I have been looking for a car starter for my 08 jk x and have settled on the Smart start module that allows me to use my iPhone. I have seen them for several different brands and offered by different stores. Each store telling me that it requires additional "modules" I have no power options so I just want car starter and alarm. Has anyone tried this system or have any experience with this unit?

Thanks

I have the viper been sitting on my chair for over 6 months. I put it on the test bench and once activated works as advertised. Maybe once it gets warmer it will go in the jeep

Yeah Future shop I think has the Viper one but they say it needs and additional $100 module to bypass everything. I know it was the most expensive module that allows power options. Has anyone actually installed the Viper model?

I think i can answer most ?s. Viper smart start mod. there are two different ones one is an addon to any alarm the other just plugs into compatable viper alarms. The addon is more wiring and more $. I opted for the plug in. I have it right here and dont see a need for a bypass. maybe they mean the plug and play mod to make the remote start portion easier to install? I have the app on my iphone and ipad alarm goes off it notifies me anywhere in the country now thats distance haha. It also can do door locks if youhave them(I dont) and remote start. Im sorry i just didnt throw it in i work all during the week and i get on other projects and now its to fing cold

From what I understand the module you are most likely being told you need is for the bypass of the factory transponder ignition, and to interface with CAN-BUS if you have any power accessories. The module is more than likely a plug in unit into the brain of the Viper/Python alarm and does the "bypass" each time you give it the signal to remote start. I've seen as well that the non-key-less equipped Jeeps and the ones with key-less entry; sometimes the module manufacturers list these as different part numbers so I guess there is a difference. This is something I have looked into adding to mine, but like you guys I have no power accessories. My only interest is in the alarm and remote start.

I have been thinking of getting it. I want the 2-way system.. my issue, my JK has factory remote start already.. someone told me it makes the install a whole more complicated.
