Default Just purchased a Ferrari Mygig need help

Hey all, I have just purchased a Ferrari Mygig off of eBay. It is from a 2010 Ferrari California. I was told by the guy selling it that it works in the JK's as that is what he used to test it out on. I have a 2010 JK that did not come equipped with Mygig nor did it come with uconnect. I have been researching all this for 8 hrs str8 and keep getting confused. I know I will need the gps antenna but not the Sirius antenna as I already have Sirius on my unit. So here are my questions, I really hope you guys can help me with this.

Does anyone really know if this Ferrari unit will work and be ok? Will I lose functions? Can Chrysler flash this thing? Update it? Will I lose my compass indash?

Best place to buy gps antenna, don't know if I will need a Ferrari specific one or if one for a JK will work.

Want to use hands free calling/Bluetooth capabilities and not sure what I really will need to get. Also anyone use a iPhone 4 with this feature? Does it even work?

What I will need for iPod/iPhone integration capabilities. Which cable?

Want to install rear backup camera? Which is best?

What's better allgig or lockpick? Do they both do the exact same things? One have more functions than the other? Best place to get one? Other parts I might need?

Anything I'm forgetting or need to know about?

Any help with any of this stuff would be greatly appreciated. You guys are the best! Thank you in advance for any help!
I will update when I get it in and plug it up.
Fingers crossed!

Can I just suggest that you cancel the purchase of that unit and get one out of a jeep to remove all confusion?

I hope your getting a great deal. If not I would highly suggest getting an aftermarket player with the right features, warranty, and compatibility. Doesn't that mygig have a Ferrari splash screen on startup?

Thanks for all the replies and pm's guys.

I believe I have it all figured out. Only thing I haven't figured out yet is which iPod connector I need for my iPhone. There are several part numbers, which one are you guys using?

Yes there is a Ferrari insignia that appears on startup and a special finish on the outside that is only available with the Ferrari unit. I just hope its not going to be too classy for my JK. It has no writing across the bottom and it does even list the model # in the bottom right hand corner, like RER.

I will post pics when I get it all installed.

I think I got a great deal on it as well. $850.00 out the door. I am pretty stoked!

I guess it's this item:

h t t p://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180588007049

It may well work. If the seller is claiming that it works in a JK, then you at least have some comeback if you get it and it doesn't work. The connections certainly look the same, but that's also the case for a low speed RER (which won't work in a JK) - there's no indication of whether this is a high or low speed bus unit.

It's very unlikely the software updates from Chrysler will work with the unit. There's a sticker on it indicating a software version 7.316 which isn't a version in common with the Chrysler units.

It does look nice though! Good luck.

He listed every Chrysler vehicle ... High Speed and Low Speed ... it's a 50/50 chance it's even the right speed ...
