Hi everybody, I'm new here and this is my first post. There is an easy way to make that with very low cost. You can disconnect the engine ignition system, the fuel injection pump, the clutch safety relay or all of them at the same time, using a hidden magnetic swith that you can activate with a little magnet. Description and schemes are quite long, so I'll post them only if any of you are interested.

Anyway-- what happens when the pump circut is broken and the engine is cranked, well, first of all it doesn't run (it may for a second, until it runs out of fuel pressure)... then the wierd thing is that it keeps cranking all by itself!. This also happens when the automatic shut down (ASD) relay is removed, if you want to experience it yourself!

I can't express the how the stomach drop felt when I cut that wire. The good news is it works!
I had this setup on my old XJ, but i think the wire was a different color. Also I think that the wire ran along the driver's side kick panel.

Where did you wire the switch/cut the wire, if you mind me asking?

As a side note, it did work, twice. Window broken, door ajar, jeep still parked. very nice....

An alternative in Africa I heard was to leacve a bottle of Bourbon laced with Arsenic or any poison of choice in the glovebox.

I bought this a couple months back and haven't installed it yet. Its a magnet style interrupter that will only start once you place a magnet against the position you select. I hope to have it installed soon as I am currently doing alot of electrical wiring on the jeep to get all my switches installed.

Just be careful with the magnet types, they may fall off at in oportune moments offroad, I remember a mate installed a relay in his ignition circuit and when he drove on corrigated roads or bumpy stuff it would keep backfiring and losing power as the contacts bounced open & shut in the relay, he swapped it to a switch and no problems.
